Al Mitchell founded Ameritune in 1983 BCD (before compact disc). 2000 events later, he’s emerged as one of Chicagoland's most requested entertainers. Much more than just a DJ, Al sets the mood by playing live keyboard and flugelhorn during dinner.

Because this is dinner music, he keeps the selections mellow and the volume low, but it's a nice touch to have the upscale feel of live music.

After dinner, Al will use your specified amount of interaction to keep the dance floor packed all night long. He's comfortable entertaining in many different styles, from highly interactive - to shut up and play the music! If you're tired of DJs having bad sound systems and cheesy lighting, Al is the DJ for you. His world class sound system is custom built and requires a 6 X 10 trailer to transport. Al uses brands like Denon, QSC, JBL, EV, Rane, DBX and brings over 5,000 songs on CD covering all eras and styles. Al uses two 18 inch EV sub woofers and two JBL 15 inch 3 ways. With 900 clean watts per speaker delivered by QSC amps, Al can comfortably play this system for groups of 50 to 350 people. For larger groups, he has more stuff! Al's Shure wireless mic works from 500 feet away, insuring that there will be no embarrassing dropouts during toasts and speeches! Top of the line Denon CD players, Rane mixer, crossover, and EQs round out his truly amazing sound system. Al's awesome array of intelligent lighting is completely controlled by a laptop computer. For introductions, he has spotlights that can scan the room and then zoom in on any location and actually follow you around the room. With these awesome lights, Al can create any atmosphere; from cozy and intimate, to a disco frenzy. With the right amount of fog from his haze machine, Al can create effects that you normally only see at a concert. These intelligent lights would normally cost$300 to $500 extra for most DJ companies, but Al likes his toys and includes them at no extra charge.
